I am new to the board but I am a very health con. mom. I can't tell you enough good things about Green tea, alot of people take it for weight loss. I never saw any weightloss. But it has cancer fighting antioxidence in it and is supper good for you. I love the take. I get Lipton Green Tea or you can get Celetrial Seasons Defac green tea ( I don't care for the decaf a much) I use a two cup pyrex measuring cup of hot water in the mico for 5 minutes I then stick 6 green tea bags in the water and let it steep for 20 minutes I use only filtered or purified water. I fill up a 1 gallon bottom spicket tea cantainer full of water (minus 2 cups worth) and then pour the tea in the cantainer. I mix in 1 TBS of Stevia (natural sweetener you buy at the health food store, make sure it has no alcohol) and the juice of one lemon. Its AWSOME and super good for you. The Stevia and the green tea are good for your teeth and gums too. Good Luck

Hello, I haven't seen any bad effect from, but I guess it would be just like any other tea. Too much is supposed to be hard on the kidneys and some teas still contain caffene; however, too much of anything can be bad. My husband drinks loose green tea, that we get from the Chinese grocery store. We both prefer the Japanese long leaf green tea, because it has a really nice flavor. Some green teas can be quite bitter. It's supposed to be good for hypertension and high cholesterol. As for weight loss...haven't seen it do that. Tea is a diuretic according to my herbal book.

Any negative side effects with the Green tea extract? I take one capsule a day. Yesterday, I took another capsule at lunch and it seemed to bother my stomach and turn my stools a shade of green. Any ideas? Thanks! Dave

I drink iced green tea all year long. An Asian gave me a receipe for making iced tea that is so simple. I take about 6 tablespoons of loose green tea and place it in a 1/2 gallon container. Fill container with COLD water. Let it set in your refrigerator for at least 24 hours (more is better). Strain and enjoy. Avoid cheap loose green tea. Spend at least $30 a pound which will make an enormous amount of tea. I live near an large Chinese community so I'm fortunate. Otherwise you can purchase on the internet.
No more boiling water. The benefits of green tea are truly endless and its so inexpensive. I only add fresh squeezed lemon.
