View Full Version : Complications after a root canal re-re-treatment

Hi there! I've posted a few times on the old board...hopefully eventually my tooth problem will be resolved. Here is my question: I had a root canal done on a molar last April; the pain never stopped so last month (Nov. 9th) I went to an Endondtist who did a retreat on it. But though it was better, I still had pain in the tooth; it was sore to chew on, etc...so yesterday I went back to the Endondtist, who was very nice: he said he'd open it up and look at it again. Well, the long and short of it is this: he found tissue inside and around one of the canals...he got it out (but wasn't able to get it out from inside the tooth, just the canal...then he cleaned out and refilled the canal). He said nothing could be done about the tissue...he did say it might just dissolve over time. My question/worry is this: will having this tissue inside my tooth cause me problems? The tooth is sore now, but it feels better than it did (at least he got the tissue out of the canal). Should I be conerned, or what? Thanks alot...Debbie

I have had several root canels. I would say that if it is not better in 3 to 4 weeks at the most to go back (but not to the same doc). Also, if you do a search on "root canal" you can bring up web sites from many different doc's. Very informative and will allow you to converse better with them.
Happy grins...
