View Full Version : Experiencing Hearing Loss and Brain Fog, any advice?

After reading some of the posts on this site I have begun to think that I may have some inner ear disorder, but cannot pin point it to one or another.
I am experiencing hearing loss, brain fog, earaches, dizziness, nausea, lightheadness, vertigo and my ears constantly feel like they are full of water. The best description I can think of is it feels like theres a ear muff covering my ear at all points of the day. Its worse in one ear ( the left ) than the other, but I experience it with both ears.
I also have tmj joint issues that really haven't been treated.
My Doctor thinks I'm crazy lol, or so I believe. I was recently diagnosed with IBS and so I was like ok, that explains my nausea, etc. But according to him, and research I have done, IBS does not cause any of those things.
I have also been experiencing alot congestion in the past year that is unexplained. The doctor keeps giving me antibiotics to clear it up, but it never really goes away and when I stop taking the meds its just as bad sometimes worse. The glands in my throat swell, and I quite often get what I considered to be sinus infections with this. But lately, my throat seems to be fine, and I have no sinus infection, but the mucous is still sitting in the back of my throat and will not go away no matter what I try. There is always a lump of it just sitting in my throat. I assume now that it is the fluid on my ears draining.
I guess what I'm trying to figure out here is what is the problem exactly. I seen an ENT yesterday and he wants me to have a hearing test done and then he said depending on that, I will have to get tubes inserted. But he made no mention as to the other symptoms I experience. He seems more concerned with my hearing loss and wants to treat that alone.

If anyone out there is or has experienced the same, I would love to hear about how you went about getting a diagnosis, and how it was treated and how effective it was. I just don't know, its so frustrating. I work in a fast paced environment and its so frustrating having to have ppl repeat themselves over and over just so I can get an understanding to what they're saying.
