Hi all:

I've had pain in my lower left abdomen for 9 months now. It started after a UTI, but at this point I think that is unrelated. I've had two abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds, an intrauterine biopsy and a CT scan. The only thing they have found is a hormone imbalance, but that isn't surprising since I am 46 and perimenopausal.

The next step for me is laparoscopy, but I'm having to wait 90 days until my husband's new insurance begins. At this point I'm really thinking I have either endometriosis or adhesions from my C-section scar (the pain is on the left very near the scar). The pain is intermittent, and more severe some days than others. I can't tell if it's related to my period at all, or if my bladder or bowel has any part in this.

It's so confusing and this week I'm a little depressed about it because of the constant pain. Has anyone ever been where I am or have any input?

Hi my name is Jennifer, i'm only 18 but i've been having pain in my lower abdoman around and below my bellybutton for 4 months now and just starting to get really bad lower back pain and cramps everyday. I was checked out by my doctor for a lot of stomach problems, they even did an entire ultrasound of my stomach and found nothing. After i went through all that i went online and researched lower abdomon pain and that's where i came across endometriosis. I then asked my gyno if i could possibly have endometriosis and she said that was probably a good possibility since i've been checked for almost everything else. I have an appt. scheduled for Nov. 21 to see the obygn about endo and probably get a laproscopy. I want them to figure something out because i'm in pain everyday all the time just like you, sometimes its so bad i just lay in bed and cry and advil and tylenol don't help either. Nothing seems to help the pain so i can't wait till i get this figured out, and find out if i have endo and see what i can do about it. Just wanted to reassure you that there is someone who knows what you're going through, and yes it can be depressing. Hope everything works out for you and you get the pain relieve you need. Take care and God bless, Jenny

Thanks Jenny...sorry you have to go through this at such a young age! Hopefully we'll both be better for the holidays.

Anyone else out there experience endometriosis or adhesions, with our same symptoms? Can you tell us what to expect, please?

I had lots of testing, even a laparoscopy, only to learn I have IBS...

You might want to do a search and see if anything fits with that.

Hi There, I'm new to Healthboards. I too am having lots of abdominal pain and have been looking about the web to see if I can help myself, British NHS not much support. I have had suspected Endo after laporoscopy nearly ten years ago and have had it confirmed by a second laporoscopy about 3 weeks ago now. I'm 30 and have experienced constant severe abdominal/lower back pain since february this year and have the follow up appointment with my Gyno on Oct 20th when he said he'll dicuss monthly hormone injections with me - I understand that this will starve the Endo of the hormones it thrives on and kill it off, although once treatment stops there is a chance that it could regrow.
I also have Polycystic Ovary syndrome (PCOS) which the first laporoscopy identified, and suffer with both IBS and chronic fatigue syndrome. Sounds like I'm in the wars and although most days it feels like I've gone several rounds in the boxing ring, the internet searches I have done all make connections between PCOS, Endo, IBS and CFS. It all seems to be down to hormonal imballances, which although can be treated there doesn't appear to be a deffinitive cure - short of the menopause or hysterectomy.
Sorry its not more chearful for you, but I'm still looking and there is some really good information and tips on the web and if nothing else it lets you know your not alone.
Wishing you better and some answers from the tests.
