Hey all!

On my last visit to the Neurologist, he did a VEMP test, Tympanogram, ENG and hearing test. All were negative except I have rebound nystagmus, which causes him to think it may be migraine related vertigo.

I have done some research and a dental device called an NTI seems to describe many of my symptoms, and specifically the area of my brain that the Neuro has talked about ( brain stem and cerebellar area).

Has anyone had any experience with this device or the possibility it could be caused by a dental problem? I catch myself clenching my teeth, but have no idea if this can be the cause of all of this trouble.

Thanks in advance. 9 mos and counting, but my job at the FD is in trouble, as my medical leave is about to expire..

Hey Jack
Just thought I'd jump in here and say "leave no stone unturned". I have a bruxism problem (clenching not grinding) and after being fitted with a night guard most of my headaches dissapeared. THis problem was not really related to my inner problem but if your test results show that your jaw may be an issue, it would be worth checking out. Wouldn't it be great if that was it, a device (I am assuming here that you wear this thing in your mouth) popped in and problem goes away!
Also lots of info on MAV in terms of diet, meds etc.
Hope you figure this out soon and get back to the firehall fast!
I am pretty much running at 100% most days, still have times when I am feeling heady and off balance but can always attribute it to some form of stress or fatigue.
Let us know how this thing turns out!

Hey kiddo!

I'm glad to hear that you are doing so well! Success stories are what keeps the rest of us going. LOL

This whole thing is such a puzzle, and with the 12 Doctors I have seen I thought I'd have an answer. The common thread is that they do not agree on much, but all either have a theory, or say "wow, you're a puzzle".

I'll keep in touch. Stay well my friend!

Jack
