Anyone ever hear of this? My MRI scan has an intrusion off the temporal bone and the radiologist noted it could be cholesterol granuloma.
Just wondering if anyone has ever been told this could be what is causing dizziness and imbalance.

Hi Rachal,

Try doing a search on the net on this subject. Some information pops up on this. Seems like it could cause dizziness considering it can be in your inner ear. I briefly scanned through the information and it seems that it can be quite common. What did your doctor think?

Hope you get your answers.

Gloria

Cholesterol granuloma can push on the inner ear (balance and hearing nerves) or can rarely invade the inner ear structures and cause dizziness. This problem requires an ear/skull base specialist (neurotologist) for treatment. Where do you live? I can recommend a good neurotologist for you to see.
