if you want home care, look into norwescap in your area. I am certified in my state, or was lol, there are certain criteria and safety standards we have to live up to or we lose certification. good luck

I put an add in one of our cities online mom resources. Our city has a website for moms - Kind of like this one with all mom topics. Maybe your city has something similar??

I send my son to daycare at a church. I was still nervous in the beginning, but I figured these were a bunch of church going ladies, it would probably be ok. They are awesome!!
Check with the local hospitals, they usually have a list of resources for new parents and may have a childcare referal line.

My mom does in home daycare and that is where my DS is going. Look in your local paper. My mom advertises in our town paper and parents looking for childcare advertise in there also. And people post ads at our local foodstore/supermarket. Also the daycare centers in our town have the names and numbers of people doing in home childcare because the daycare centers in our town are always full.

Another option is to talk with your pediatrician. Some shy awway from this kind of question as they don't want to endorse someone. Mine was actually quite happy to give me the names of people whom she considered good. That made me feel better as they doc. might know if bad things had been happenoing at one or another daycare.

My friend that i have known since high school does in home daycare. That is where my DD goes. I think the best way to find daycare is talk to all the moms you know. See where they take their children.

I got lucky and had daycare from the moment we found out I was pregnant. A good friend of my boyfriend's has a in home daycare and was looking for a baby to fill an opening. She is wonderful and spoils my DD. The hospital you delivered should have a listing of certified daycare centers but they will be pricey. If you can find an in home daycare you can trust it is cheaper. We pay almost half of the norm. Also, if you ask around at work (or even the park) you'd be surprised to find out how many moms will suggest someone.
