Here two months ago, doc ordered me a chest x-ray, and it came back that i have granuloma in my chest. My doc didnt explain nothing to me. He just said that he will do another chest x-ray in four months to see how it is progressing. Is this bad news when they want to do another one to see how bad it is? What is granuloma, i know there is all kinds of granuloma but he didnt say which one i have. All he said is its in my chest and he'll look at it again in four months. I asked him what it is, and he just said that it looks like small black bloches all in my chest. That is caused from soil, and he asked me if i smoked. So im assuming its from cigarette smoke as well. And NO i do NOT smoke, ive been around it my whole life but i do not smoke. If anyone has any info. on this please let me know. Also too i cough up this black stuff all the time, is this from the granuloma as well??? Should i be worried????

Jeannie,
I did some quick research on granulomas of the chest and it seems like you are in no immediate danger. The difficulty seems to be in figuring out where they came from. I used the references that are listed at the top of this board in the sticky called "beginning websites for all." Also, I did a simple search using the terms "granuloma and chest" in Google, and I was able to find a lot of information.
Please try those references to see what you can see, too.
Also, there seem to be a number of people who have posted similar symptoms right here on healthboards. The best place for you to post your question is in the Lung and Respiratory board. You should be able to get a ton of information among all these references. Good luck and keep us posted.
