I have had numerous ear infections that were treated with atibiotics for as long as I can remember. I just finished a round of Azithromycin for sinustitis(sp?) last week. I have been having dizzy spells where I feel like I am off-balance and nauseous as well. I get occasional ringing in my left ear that lasts a few seconds and then fades to nothing--sometimes followed by hearing loss that lasts about 5 seconds. This has been going on for a few months now. I also have pain in my ears when I am in the wind or cold weather. I am going to see my dr. on Oct. 3 to be referred to an ear specialist.
Anyone know what I could possibly have?? What tests can I expect when I go and see the specialist and how are they done? I hope they won't be anything that is going to cause me to vomit or have a panic attack(which I have been experiencing more frequently with these spells)!
Thanks for any help!

your ear infections could have travelled into your inner ear, and caused some inflammation there, or a secondary virus could have gotten in there and messed things up for a little bit, which would give you that dizzy, nauseas feeling. Go see the doctor and get the tests. If they give you an ENG (inner ear test), you will know if there is any damage in your inner ear. If there is damage and not just inflammation, you will STILL BE OKAY. But in this case, your brain has to learn to compensate for the damage. How long have you been feeling dizzy? I wouldn't worry that it is anything worse. Inner ear stuff can make you feel miserable. I hope things get better soon.

Wouldn't the antibiotics have cleared up any infection I did have in there?
I also forgot to mention I also have a kind of vibrating ear drum feeling once in a while too. I went to my dr. about the dizziness a few months back and he said my right ear drum was "bulging" and he removed a big chunck of wax from my left ear (sorry if TMI) which caused it to bleed all day. Since then the dizziness has been getting worse. And the past week it is getting to the point where I have to lay down 3/4 of the day. Watching things moving quickly on the TV and staring at the computer screen causes me to have a falling sensation--which then leads to a panic attack because I think something major is wrong like a brain tumor or something!(which does happen to run in my family)
P.S. I am only 26 with 3 kids...which I can barely look after because of this!
Thanks again for any help!
