Hello everyone,
First of all, I sympathize with all of you with infertility problems. I underwent infertility testing for 10 years and all that they could find out was that I had Endometriosis. I had a Hysterosalpingagram and my tubes were clear, although I had a horrible reaction to the dye they used. When it started to ooze out, I had horrible pain in my abdomen and it seemed to paralyze my stomach muscles. I got a 107 deg. fever, too. I also underwent artificial insemination and zift procedure. No luck. Very heartbreaking.
What I would like to know is if any of you have endometriosis and have taken Lupron Depot? I first took Danazol in 1986. I had to take 4x the recommended dosage before it would stop my periods. I took that for 8 months. The second time, again after a laparoscopy finding extensive endometriosis, I took Lupron shots. I took them once a month, for 6 months. That was in 1992.
I have now been diagnosed with a HyperThyroid, possibly Grave's Disease. I googled "Lupron Depot" and "HyperThyroid" and came across a board that had a lot of posters with horrible reactions from Lupron, including Hyperthyroid. Supposedly, the effects of Lupron on the Thyroid are supposed to be gone after 3 months. But I cannot but help wonder if it has permanently damaged my Thyroid. I am currently undergoing tests to see if they can find the cause of my HyperThyroid, but I will not be surprised if all of the tests comeback "Undetermined Causes", just like the Infertility.
Please let me know your experiences with Lupron.
Thanks and May God Bless You With a Baby,
Mariah

Hi Angel-

I've been battling infertility for almost 7 years with no success yet. I too have endometriosis. I've had a couple of laparoscopies done to remove some endo, including my left tube which was completely blocked.

I did the Lupron Depot shots about three years ago for three months. They didn't seem to too do much. My endo keeps on coming back.

I hope you have better luck with it. Good Luck to you!

Angel,

I had endo diagnosed in 1995. I had a lap and did lupron for 6 months. Afterward I was on continuous pill (no cycles) for a few years, then just quit and did nothing for a while. I had HSG and my tubes were clear when my husband and I started trying to conceive. We used Clomid for 3 months and now we have a healthy, beautiful 7 week old baby boy.

I will comment that I made a move that I think was good for my health, because things really felt better (cramping etc) when I moved from Houston to Denver. I think the extremely unhealthy environment in that area contributes to it and the dry clean air in Denver was healthier. Of course that's just my personal opinion, but I have tons of friends in H area that had / have endo and don't know anyone in D with it.

April
