Long story short, (i'll do my best)
A 660Lbs motorcycle broke my ankle (I don't hold it against it-I still ride ;) ), doc said I did a "good job" on it.
Operated the next morning, added 2 pins. That was may 21st.
Didn't go back until June 13 with xray. He added rubber pads so I could start walking on it.
July 11 he took the cast off, without any xray. Sent me home, no physio, said nothing, natta.
Sept 20 finaly gave up on that surgeon as he had previously rescheduled twice on me-I had the xray done, in my hand. The two really nice women at the x-ray clinic seemed concerned. I went to my family doc for a referral. He said it looked like a fresh break.
Point i'm trying to figure out, is this the norm?
1-only had 3 x-rays looked at since may 21st
2-xray techs (for a lack of words, i'm sorry-but I do say, those ladies were polite and treated me like a human :) ), voiced their concern, family doc says it looks like a fresh break, then the surgeon (I saw finaly on the 26th), said it was healing well. All of these comments are from the same set of xrays.
Should I believe the surgeon? Should I get a second opinion? Who would you put your trust in? Who should I believe?
Thanking you in advance for your reply, your opinion, your experience.

Are you having any symptoms? Pain? Anything that would make you think there is a problem?
My advice: if you don't like your orthopedic surgeon, switch to a new one. I did and was much more happy.

Hi! As a x-ray tech myself I have to put my 2 cents in! X-ray tech's do see a lot of things, and usually can tell what is wrong with someone by looking at their x-ray, there have been times that I have had to point something out to a dr. who was about to miss something on an x-ray. Now, orthopedic surgeons are usually very knowledgable on bones, unfortunately there are a few in this world who are not, and still practice. One thing you need to consider is how long have these x-ray techs been practicing (you cannot go by age here, as many people go into this field late in life), if they have been doing it a while they probably do know what they are talking about, but DO NOT only take their word for it. My best advice would be to get a 2nd opinion with another doctor and take these same x-rays with you. If he says the same thing as the first doctor, mention what the x-ray techs said, see if after hearing that he looks again and sees anything, if he stills says that it is healing nicely, then I think you need to believe the doc! :)
