My hair didn't look like it was receeding, but it did start breaking really bad around my hair line. My hair dresser warned me that it would happen. Man it drove me crazy.
Hey, I'm almost 9 months pp and I'm still loosing loads of hair! I asked my Dr. about it at my last appt and she assured me it was normal but I'm not buying it LOL. My hair is totally different now and is breaking easily too... sorry I know this isn't advice but I'm not sure what to do about it either?

I've had 4 babies. It has happened each time and it is normal. My experience has been that it will thin out drastically from about 4 months post partum to 12 months post partum. Then, you'll begin a phase of regrowth, but, it is never quite as lush and thick as you had before. A lot of that is the added stress your new love brings to your life and a lot of it is also age. Age thins womens' hair, just as it does for men. Look at your mother and her mother, etc. The way their hair thins is a good indicator of what yours will be like.
My baby is 6 months old right now and I have to brush it before I shower and still a huge amount comes out in the shower when I wash my hair too, it's icky. When I have time to blow it dry, seems like there's more on the floor and in my brush than on my head. I've heard Rogaine for women helps, but I haven't tried it myself. I had super thick thick straight hair, so I'm lucky in that it does come back pretty thick. It's also really weird, my hair is now much wavier than before kids.
Oh well, so we don't have those Rapunzel tresses we all used to fuss over so much, we have a gorgeous little person instead.

My son is 8mths and I am starting to get back all my hair. All around my hair line I have all these short little hairs poking up, which is quite annoying, but atleast it's coming back.
With my first son, I lost so much hair. My pillowcase would be covered in hair by the morning and I would always have a handfull come out while I was in the shower.

i would think that coloring afterward would be fine
they say its mostly cause of chemicals and stuff you shouldnt while your pregnant and of corse that hormonlay your hair would react diffrent then when your not
i would my self cause i'm impatiant but its up to you if you still think your hair texture and stuff isnt like its old self maybe you should wait till you think it is
i dont know
last year i donated 13 inches of my hair to locks of love cause i found out i had some blood disease (to sow a seed) ya know
well its falling out now so much
i want to call them and ask for it back
i'm going to have my thyroid check cause this is rediculous

I lost a lot of hair, especially with my first born. Then with each subsequent baby, I still lost hair but much less for some reasoN, possibly because my hair wasn't as thick or I just didn't notice. It probably will grow back, so don't fret.
