I had open release surgery August 29 and still am having a lot of CTS symptoms (though not quite as bad as my condition was at its worst). I seem to improve for a few days and then go back to square one. I am still having some bad nights, though not as often and only rarely as severe as prior to surgery. The incision seems to be healing just fine and the occasional pain from it doesn't bother me much, but the tingling/numbness in my fingers and that sensation of discomfort in my arm drive me crazy. I feel frustrated that I am not getting better faster (though my surgeon thinks this is normal). Could any of you describe what your recovery was like? And were there any medications or behaviors that made you feel better?

hi, my surgery was sept 14 and I am still having problems with tingling and numbmness in the fingers. I see the dr next week to see if i am going to to do the left hand. most people say this normal and that I have to give it more time.

That's good to hear. I've actually had some improvement the last couple of days ( 2 decent night's sleep in a row) and I do realize that my thumb and first finger are nearly asymptomatic. I guess I'll just have to be patient.

As much as I hate to say it...patience! It does take some time for the nerve to heal.
It took months for my fingers to quit feeling numb.
