i live in the uk and its 3:34am here. i logged off my computer earlier at 1am and wen to bed. for 2 hours i lay there but i couldnt get to sleep for some reason. Everytime i try to relax and sleep i start talking to myself about something in my head and i dont realise then a few mins later i realise im doing it and try to stop, but once i stop and try to sleep i start think about something else from things that have happened in my childhood to people ive met and people i dont see no more and events, i must have had about 30 different convosations in my head tonight. ive even tried concentrating on my breathing but a few mins later im having a convosation in my head about when i was at my friends 7 years ago. its only happening tonight but ive had it in the past and its irritating. anyone know what may be causing this?
thanks.
thanks.

Ah yes........those annoying conversations when you're trying to sleep. I'm all too familiar with that. In fact, I did it just last night. I don't know what causes it for others, but for me, it's usually, though not always, when I have some unfinished business or stress. The thoughts, random though they may be, will torment me until I get out of bed and watch some TV or eat a small snack. I have to stay up a little while. Then I can usually go back to bed and actually fall asleep. I don't know why it happens. I have learned though, not to fight it. Just get up. Read, take a shower, do something relaxing. I feel for you, friend. Have you been diagnosed with any sleep disorders?

nope no disoreders but i generally stay online late anyway cause i play online games like counter strike (which is starting to afect my eyes). i went back to bed about 5am-ish and still had those convosations but after a bit they stopped and i fell asleep. but i was really tired at 1 am so i spent around 4 hours of been tired without sleeping. and ive only just woke up (2pm)

No wonder you can't sleep!. LOL I totally forgot about that. That'll keep me awake all night. I used to play a lot of X-box games until I realized it was keeping me from getting sleepy. You're keeping your adrenalin too high at night with the gaming. :bouncing: You need to do something relaxing - I mean REAL relaxing about an hour or two before you're ready to go to bed. I promise you, it'll do the trick. :D
