Not sure where this really belongs.
My mother-in-law bought some Emu Oil Capsules for my wife. Here is what literature was attached:
1. Emu Oil is a super anti-inflammatory agent so these greatly reduce joint pain and swelling.
2. Regular use of emu oil as a dietary supplement has been shown to reduce LDL's and increase HDL's in our bodies.
3. Emu oil reduces your cholesterol level thus reducing risk of coronary artery disease and heart attack.
4. Helps you lose weight by increasing your metabolic rate.
5. Contains the essential fatty acids, Omega 3, 6, & 9.
6. Improves the following: nail and hair growth rate and condition, prevents and treats allergies, reduction of headache, and reduces cholesterol.
The gelcaps contain Triglycerides and provide a balance source of Omega 3 and 6. People who take these gelcaps report different benefits including better digestion, less Indigestion, lower blood pressure, and again lower cholesterol. I've also read here in the forums that the oil is good for acne, scars, and stretch marks.
I guess what i'm asking is: Is this stuff really that good for you or is this another one of those "trendy" supplements that is going around???

I've never heard of Emu Oil but I'd be very interested to hear more about it.

I've only heard of emu oil as a topical treatment. In skin creams, etc.
What is your reason for contemplating using them? There are other omega-3, 6, 9's out there, that aren't of animal origin.
