Quick question, does anyone know how long Xanax @ 0.25 stays in your system??

Xanax has the half life of about 4 hours. So, you will usually stop feeling its benefits after a few hours or so.

Klonopin, which is a benzo like xanax, has a much longer half life of about 40 hours.

Thanks for the information, also its been 7yrs since the last time I was on Xanax and it also was for .25mgs. For some reason it isn't having the same calming affect that it did years ago. Do I need to call the Dr and ask if it can be increased or keep taking it to see if it changes?

Ps...this is the only med that has ever worked on me, it took a long time to get a dr to prescribe this........this would really be upsetting if after all the time to get something that use to work now doesn't.

I just took my first xanx after three years,,,, the first time it work for me, but the second time it didnt, the next time i have to take it i think i will double up....

I'm going to wait a week and maybe on Friday if it isnt' working I will call the Dr. I do not want to double up without consulting him. They also have a special xanax i think its called xr that stays in your system all day. I may ask about that one.
