Hey everyone!
My Lupus has been under control with the meds (knock on wood), but recently I got a sore in my mouth (on my tongue). I haven't called my GP yet, but do you have any suggestions for remedies? I didn't know if they would prescribe something or just recommend something over the counter.

I get lots of mouth sores, and I know there are OTC meds to get, but I just usually use a little peroxide and water and swish it around in my mouth. I've used the OTC so much and lately I've had a mouth full of sores most of the time so I just do the peroxide swish thing.
Good Luck

I don't know if this will help or not; but I used to get canker sores a lot and learned (on my own, docs were no help) to stay away from citrus. No citrus fruit, juices; including raw tomatoes (they are the worst). I now get a mouthful of the "painless" sores and it seems as though more frequent brushing and mouthwashes; reducing diet sodas and even picking out the slices of tomatoes from my burgers helps them reduce at least. Nothing has cleared them up entirely.
Hope that helps!

Thank you all for your responses! I have noticed that OJ seems to upset it more. I will try the peroxide and water to see if that helps. Thank you again!

Hi all -
It's bothersome, but mouth sores are one of the 11 symptoms of lupus. Mine were tiny, painless, my dentist found them, and asked if I had lupus. Maybe we're stuck with them from time to time?
As I write this, I've just finished a glass of orange juice. Oh no!!
Wishing you well! Barbara
