Has anyone looked into the metaphysics of ailments? For instance it is considered that a Diabetic is lacking in sweetness in life so the body sets up the situation to stop breaking down sugar. Cardiac problems are thought to be caused by matters of the heart and emotions. Do you know any happy people that get heart disease? High blood pressure by too much pressure (stress). So what about the spine?
Me for instance... I'm an Electrician and got to the stage that I hated the trade but couldn't find another form of income. So the mind took over and corrupted the body and effectively stopped me working! Sure I had done things that caused damage to the discs but had I already damaged them at a metaphysical level?
Or.... this one worries me... am I spineless in life and then this has weakened my physical spine? Sure the odd croc or wild cow or pub brawl doesn't frighten me but being assertive does! I'm very much a loner for good reason.
Also have you ever wondered what spinal surgery has done to our chakras? The spine is the conduit of our very being. Perhaps that is the cause for so much pain. We become so outa wack.
Then on the other hand and I'm not so much against modern technology (ie surgery) repairing damage caused by again modern technology but then if I was an ancient hunter hunting the wooly mammoth maybe my physique would be so much stronger that spine injury would be rare.
Actually I forgot that about fifteen years ago I had shocking siatica (sp?) and I went to a lot of PT's but everything was temporary and I learnt to live with it for a couple of years then one time I worked out in a gym with weights for a couple of weeks and it disapeared never to return. So was there a metaphysical reason for that? Did I feel weak and the process of working out made me feel stong and the mind cured the body? Food for thought.

In some ways I think you are on the right track...ie. adaptive behaviour (ie. Darwinism) requires us to render some attributes to the forefront and diminish the usefulnes of others.
Even predetermined genetic diseases ie. allergies to peanuts, cancer etc. are present it seems because of our response and familial response in the past to toxins. Whether on a pysichological level or not we learn to respond to these illnesses (so to speak).
Clearly one spouse dies quickly after another due to losing the will to live without the other present...or Reese's monkeys die due to lack of affection (Psych 101).
If the mind is the control centre which elicits either a proactive will to get better or a command to wallow in our sorrow (ie pain), perhaps there is a correlation to why some get better or have higher pain thresholds.
I think your thoughts are valid....after all ....we are what we eat, we reap what we sow..the apple doesn't fall far from the tree are sayings all related to behavioural responses to situations and clearly we have the power to change them....ie the abuser whose child is loving and caring in his future family, the child who fairs well with an education and successful future after living a horridly poor, uninspired upbringing.
Maybe we all need to take this a little more seriously :bouncing: Nero
