Hi!
I am new here. I am always tired and cannot figure out why, I just had a week off work and even getting up at 9am after going to bed at 11pm and I was still exchaused throughout the day. And if I work an early shift (7-4) I come home and nap for like three hours and it is a struggle to get up then!
I am also a very cold person and often take a hot bath to warm myself up. I exercise regulary and eat pretty good.
I went to the doctor yesterday and he said nothing seemed to be the problem but he will take some blood later this week just to confirm. Any idea the reason, why I am so tired?
Looking forward to hearing from someone! :)

Glad to hear your doctor is going to do the blood tests. My immediate thought is that it sounds like it could be some form of anemia.

Dehydration could be a possibility. Do you drink lots of water, and is your pee clear or dark?

Hi UK chick - I am the exact same way, cold and tired and unmotivated!! I have had all the tests and am very healthy apparently. i get lots of sleep, go to bed a tthe same time every night, etc. I think in all honesty I am just a low-energy person. I have been like this since I was a young child so I'm thinking its just part of my makeup, which sucks!

Good luck. I'm quite often tired as well, despite lots of sleep. I've tried figuring out the reasons for it, but am still struggling. I work shifts, which prob doesn't help, but I also sometimes wonder if it's psychological. When I'm on holiday, or in an unfamiliar place , I have to concentrate much more to figure things out and feel great, but at home I can go through life in a trance coz I know exactly what I'm doing and tend to do it on autopilot. Kind of like the way you can drive a familiar route without really thinking about it.
Anyway, will be interested to hear your results.

I would arrange for a sleep study just to be sure - I went through the same thing and ended up having a severe REM disorder, and Narcolepsy.
Do you move your limbs around a lot at night? Do you have anyone that tells you talk or walk in your sleep? Do you ever talk about an event or something a person may have said to you, and someone else will tell you that event never happened or that the comment or discussion was never made?
I've been treated for my disorders and I still sometimes sleep 16 hours away . . . . and can still go to bed an hour later and sleep again.
Tarzan Boy - that could be automatic behavior . . . when you do things automatically but never really remember doing them, or you feel like you are kinda there - but not really there - maybe you even miss some small periods of time?

You should really consider a sleep study. The amount of fatigue you are experiencing isn't normal. If your doctor isn't taking your concerns seriously, get a second opinion.
Good luck.

Hey,
I am going through the same thing right now, I sleep at least 10 hours (if not more) a night and take many naps during the day, but I still feel sleepy. I had a EEG sleep study done and it took me five hours to go into REM sleep and I only went into REM once. It's normal for a person to enter into REM after 90 minutes. My sleep study showed no signs of restless leg syndrom, but i am starting a medication for that right now, called Requip, I will let you know if I get any better.
