View Full Version : Late period??

I've been like clockwork every 28 days for years. I've never been late unless I was PG. I was due to start on the 28th, and today, still no period. I went yesterday for a blood pg test, which was negative. This is only my 3rd cycle since I stopped bf'ing DD (I've had 2 periods since), but between my first period after BF'ing and my second was 28 days. Then this would be the 3rd, and I'm 5 days late???

Has anyone ever had this happen? Could I still be PG? Or could it just be an "adjustment" time? After I stopped BF'ing my DS, my period returned to normal immediately and stayed that way. I'm just wondering what's up with my cycle. I'm on a 3 medications that I need to find out if I need to stop or not if I am PG. But if I'm not what's up with the late period?

Maybe it could be stress. This exact thing is happening to my friend and she got a postive hpt on sat.Her DD is only 4 months old. I would test again tomarrow or in a couple days if AF is still not here. Good luck.

Even though you are normally like clockwork, you've had a TON of hormones working their magic over the last year...I think that's enough to throw anyone's cycle off. Mine has been a little screwy too after always being right on time. I'm 7 months PP. Maybe test again in a few days just to put your mind at ease...but that sure does get expensive.

Well, I have an appointment today to see about BC options, but they want to confirm that I'm not PG first. So I'm going back in for another blood draw. This time they are going to do a quantitative HCG to find out if there is any HCG in my system at all before the put me on birth control.

Uggh.

Kiera-- do I remember you mentioning somewhere that you have Mirena? I was thinking about trying it, but I'm kind of worried because all I read on here is the bad stuff. Has it been good for you?

Actually I use the Paragard IUD because I'm kinda freaky about adding more hormones to my system and it's long term effects. Mirena has hormones. But anyway, I really like it!!! I never have to think about it. It's good for 10 years, but can be taken out in a few seconds if I ever want to be preggers again. I barely felt it when they put it in (which took about 3 minutes) It does make AF a bit heavier, but it is also shorter now too. Talk to your doc...but I give it the thumbs up!
