Hi- I'm 11 weeks post op bunion surgery, bone wedge removed, toe straightened, bump shaved off and 2 screws applied. Wondering if anyone had any of these problems post op and did they resolve. The area around the shaved off bunion still pretty tender. My big toe is very stiff, and receiving 4 weeks of physical therapy, twice a week, for this. The bottom of my foot around the ball is very sore and my physical therapist said today I have tendonitis because of alteration in my gait. Hopefully my toe loosens up so I can walk normal again. Because I'm not walking normal my other toes are now tender. I'm so discouraged at this point, seems like I've exchanged bunion pain for a bunch of other problems post op. I'm so angry with myself for having this surgery. I have a job where I work 12 hour shifts 3 days a week, and I took 7 weeks off for surgery so really can't take more time off. I've been told it takes time to completely recover, maybe I'm just impatient with it all. I'm normally very active but not at this point. Just would like some feedback from people that have had this surgery and have you experienced any of these problems and if so did they resolve.

I am also 11 weeks post op and my foot hurts worse than prior to surgery. I had a bunion removed; big toe cut & straightened with a permanent screw; bone spur removed from top of toe joint. My podiatrist did not send me to a physical therapist and right now, the progress I make is what I do for myself. I try to stretch my toes daily, but they will only move so far. The top of my foot hurts, my ankles hurt, my arch hurts and my foot swells daily (to the point of where the ankle bones disappear!). My podiatrist told me to walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes daily, which I am doing. However, by the 20th minute, it hurts!!!
So.....I do "feel your pain" and am hoping things will get better for both of us! I have another appointment next week, which is when I am technically supposed to be "released". We'll see!
