My mother in law just recently had a ct scan because they xray showed something in her lungs, well we get a phone call September 22 about the findings and the doctor says " that a spot was on her right lung and also spot on her liver along with several spots on her lymph gland". Betty had a bioposis on Tues. the 27th and since then it has been down hill. Betty has had facial paralysis and eye focusing issues, along with loss of use of left hand/arm. We went to dx last night and now they beleive she has it in her spine, bone, brain (what a shock for us). Betty was admitted into the hospital for a mri on her brain and to jump start radiation therapy. Betty has also alot of other medical isssues ( high blood pressure, IBS, Diabetes). Has anybody gone through this? What can I expect in the next few days, months? What can I do? Betty is understanding the severity of the cancer and how fast it is spreading so we are concerned for life in the short term being better. Betty is 59, stopped smoking 20years ago (abou a pack a week). I don't know what else to say, just looking for some feed back so I can help her.
Thanks
