I was a March Mom, so that puts me at 6 months post partum. This is my 4th baby, but first C Section, it was an emergency due to cord issues. The incision was very very low (lower than I had imagined or read about) and about 5 inches long.
My question is this - my incision site is still super sore. My Dr. checks were normal and she said I was healing fine. My last check was at 10 weeks pp, so quite a while ago. It hurts enough that it interferes with exercise, and is so painful to the touch, especially in one couple inch area. The pain is sharp and goes from the skin to an achey feeling deep down inside.
I haven't formed a keloid scar, it's just pink and normal looking, nothing oozes, I had staples outside and stitches inside. I'm not overweight and not underweight. Is this normal sounding to you, what were/are you all experiencing?

The only thing I can think of is its scar tissue. I had my C section June of 04 and healed great, didn't have much pain, I know I was lucky. But when I got pregnant again, it was horrible, it hurt worse in my incision area than it did when I had the C section. My dr. said it was the scar tissue. I started wearing a support (Its like a liner to give you a smooth look like you are wearing hose but its shorts so it works with capri's etc with out wearing hose, and is more comfy than hose) and it helped alot. Maybe you could try that. Goodluck.

I had a c-section with DS and am almost 4 months pp. I never really had pain like that after the first month. I also had staples outside, stiches inside, low cut, about 5 inches, etc. I was getting like a burning sensation on the outside and sometimes sharp tugging pain on the inside. The outside felt better after I started putting Vitamen E on it every day. The inside only hurts if DS is standing on it or I get alot of pressure there. If I were you I would talk to the Dr about it. The pain should be gone by now I would think.

I've had 2 c sections and it doesn't sound right to me what you are going through. The pain always got better with passing days and by 4-6 weeks pp nothing hurt. I'm 7 months pp right now and I feel no pain at all no matter what happens to that area. The site of your inscision sounds about right (they are quite low) but that pain is something to really check into.

I am a mother of three who has had three sections. The pains I felt were more like an internal itching pain I think from the healing. I can only guess that it will fade in time. Keep in touch with your doctor about it but sometimes the body just eeds time.

Thanks ladies. I'm going in for a quick check at the family practice instead of the OB, sometimes I feel like the OB office rushes through and brushes things off as "normal" because they see so many preggo chicks all day and post partum moms. It hurts just to walk around still, and from reading your thoughts, that part doesn't sound right, not 6 1/2 months after surgery.

It has healed well, however to my dispair l have had pains there sometimes and it once started from doing the hoover. I have not done any exercise and was scared of what some of you have siad about excericsing and the pain. Really need to loose excess weight! no joy yet. :(
