I had a case of diverticulitis in Jan. 2003. It was in my upper left abdomen. Four days ago I developed pains, cramping, fever and elevated white blood count. My husband took me to ER where they did a Cat scan also. It came back to said being as diverticulitis. Wierd thing is, that this was not like the episode I had 2 years ago. THis time the pain was in my lower abdomen, right above the pubic bone and to the right . Can diverticulitis develop in other places other than the upper left area? I am now on 2 antibiotics and feeling a bit better. I don't feel too bad when lying down or sitting, but feel pain upon walking and as I am sitting down. I always thought diverticulitis occured on the left upper side. And is this normal to feel pressure in the rectum area upon sitting?
