Hi,
Im not sure if anyone remembers me from a few weeks back ... i was the crazy one who was losing my mind thinking i had something terrible wrong with me because i had some rectal bleeding.

Well i had my colonoscopy a couple weeks ago which showed everything was fine and bleeding was from a fissure he also took a biposy and the nurse just called and said everything came back fine it just showed active colitis.
I asked if that was ok and she just said yes it just means your colitis is acting up.

So isnt colitis soemthing to be concerned about or not? She didnt seem concerned at all.

I didnt even know i had it ... i was diagnosed with Chrohns about 15 yrs ago but have been off all; meds for the past 8 yrs with no flare ups at all.
I do fell fine wouldnt i feel something if i was having active colitis?

Hi Cath, I would have thought your Dr would have put you on some kind of meds to treat the colitis. I have ulcerative colitis and when it flares up I take some meds for it. They say with the type I have it puts me at a higher risk of getting colon cancer, something like 5% higher. You should contact your Dr. just to make sure! Good luck with it and God bless.

Hi...if you have CD (Crohn's), and you've been tested for active colitis, your CD is in your colon....

What meds were you on for CD?

Call your doc and get him to put you on rectal meds to start...5ASA is a good start. Chances are as well that if one area is acting up, another will be as well....good to start treatment now.

Where is the other area you have CD?
