2 years ago I had to go move back home with my parents because I couldn't take care of my children. I became very dizzy, and lightheaded, and I had no apetite because I felt so nausious all the time. My vision was clear but any motion or light I would see would be too much for me. Shopping in a store with so much to see would make me feel sick and my eyes could not relax. I have undergone cat scans, MRI, blood tests, I saw an Ear Nose and Throat Doc, I had air blown in my ear for some test, I went to a chiropractor, and a naturopath. After all this it was suggested that this was anxiety related. I believe it is anxiety related now, because of all the tests and the worrying I had to do. It's now 2 years later and I am able to take care of my family but I still don't feel right. I am often light headed for short waves, and my eyes can't seem to relax. . I can't go to work full time because I get so overwhelmed. Does this sound like anxiety or can something else be wrong.

Firstly well done for getting your children back.
Considering all the tests youve had done and nothing was found to be wrong leads to the belief that your symptoms are that of anxiety.
I still find it amazing that anxiety can cause so many physical symptoms, i too suffer with the light headedness and have constant neusea along with a catalogue of other symptoms.
Are you on any medication? Considering what youve been through its hardly suprising that your anxious. Try not to worry that its anything else.
Good luck to you.

I was given Ativan (I think it is an antidepresant) but I refuse to take it, I have a fear of taking meds. I know that sounds silly. It is comforting to know that I am not the only person that gets lightheaded. It's a scarry thing and my husband doesn't understand. He keeps telling me nothing is wrong with me.

Hi Taglia -
Ativan isn't an anti-depressant, it is a benzodiazepine which is basically a tranqulizer. You only need to take it when you are feeling really bad and it will have a calming effect and should make you feel a lot better. It doesn't have any side effects either generally, except it might make you a bit drowsy at first. Don't be scared to take it, it REALLY helps.
