Does anyone know if gb surgery is covered under Medi-cal? Medi-cal is the insurance provided by the state for those people who are considered "low-income". How overweight do you have to be for your insurance to cover it? What are the risks? Same as a c-section or worse?

Hello,
Yes, it is covered as long as u meet specific requirements. U have to be refered by your doc, and then usually go through a lot of other pre-approval appointments before u will actuallly be approved. Atleast thats how it works in my state.
I guess I dont know if a gb is more dangerous than a C-****on but I do know it has risks, and alot of them come after the surgery. You should really do some research on GB before you decide anything.
I just had one myself 8 weeks ago, and so far I am Very happy with the results. I would be happy to try and answer any questions you may have. But I do strongly recomend you research the procedure first.
Take Care,
