I'm new to this board and have read some of the helpful threads about bunionectomys. My podiatrist fitted me with custom orthotics, but he said the small, irritating red bump I have will not go away and that I'd eventually need surgery. The pain comes and goes (and only lasts a short time). The Dr. said I'd be fitted with a walking boot and wouldn't need crutches and could probably return to work in less than 2 weeks. I run a lot and lift leg weights (or at least I did before I was diagnosed with this). If I got the surgery, would I be able to resume these activities? Thanks.
