I just got an albuterol inhaler yesterday, and its my first time using one. I just got diagnosed with asthma (on top of my allergies) Just wondered if anyone has side effects from using this. I had to use this morning for the first time, just wondered if it effects everyone differently and what to expect from it.???

The albuterol is your dialator for asthma attacks or before vigorous physical exertion (jogging, etc). It makes most people somewhat shakey and a little wound up, so to speak. I find that if I use it and then don't go jog, the side effects are worse. If I go jog (15 minutes after using), then I am fine. If I wait any longer I start getting shakey. I seldom need it otherwise as my daily flovent doses seem to handle that. The few times I've needed it for an attack, I had thoseside effects but they were mild.
Hope this helps.

Its been a while since I have had to use my inhaler (a few years) but I can basically second the comments made above, since it dilates and open your airways you will get basically a rush, sometimes you will get a little shakey but nothign to be scared or nervous about, just kind of like drinking a lot of caffeine...and it does work quick, so no waiting for pills or anything like that.....just make sure and follow the directions and to breathe and spray at the same time, and to hold it for i think it was like 10-20 seconds, so you arent just breathing it right back out...may take a few trys to get the rhythm down, but it just becomes second nature soon enough...

05blu,
Have you used the Pulmosoothe that is recommended for asthma at the bottom of your post?
