Robert2 05-04-2001, 08:39 PM The pain should recede after a day because the nerve goes out with the tooth. It sounds like you may have a problem call Dry Socket. You should contact your dentist. Zimm 05-04-2001, 11:35 PM Hi and thanks for the reply. When I said rather painful, I didn't mean that it was realllll painful, I guess maybe I should have said real sore. Is it normal to be sore and uncomfortable for more than 3 days? Thanks Robert2 05-05-2001, 01:49 AM Soreness of your gums and the inside of your cheek might be sore for a few days. Especially if the dentist had to do a lot of cutting and suturing. It is not unusual for the dentist to slip with a tool and cut the inside of your cheek. The standard treatment to speed up healling is to rinse your mouth with warm salt water. 1 teaspoon salt to a glass of water (Don't swallow it) I find that popcycles help reduce the swelling and pain when you hold them on the affected area. Just remember not to suck them. |
