Sorry if this is a duplicate message...
My dentist has told me that I have mandibular tori. I know I'll have to have surgery soon, since the bones on either side of my tongue coming from my gums are very large. I'm very afraid of the surgery. Has anyone had this done? Can you fill me in on the details? Any new advances anyone's heard of? Thanks for all your help. I'm so worried I cry every day about it.

I am wondering why you need this surgery. Are you getting a denture? Do you have a denture? Are the tori growing? Bothering you in some way?

Yes, the tori are growing, and I can feel that times my speech is affected. I don't know if perhaps in my mind this is exaggerated because of my apprehension, but they are very large.
Thanks so much for your reply.
