i have another question aobut my 7 1/2 month old. he likes his barley cereal & rice he kinda likes, and he just cries after i give him cereal for his bottle & he get's that. anyway he hates ALL fruits and veggies and meats. i give him all the formula he needs cause that is most important right now but does any of your babies hate all babyfood? i know i have a 2 year old who is picky but she at least liked pears & sweet potatoes & carrots & stuff like that after awhile. Also the sippy i am trying here & there i kinda gave up awhile cause he would just sit there and not even try to drink from it. I think he drank from sippy once or twice but he wont even give it a try and i only offered it at lunch now i just give him the bottle. i gave him soft spout cup & i know my daughter didnt do good with that one either but she did better with the hard spout. Any advice? Also anyone have a 7 month old and how much does he/she eat? mine eats a whole thing of cereal like almost the side of the bowl filled to top plus his bottle 7-8 ounce.

Have you tried vanilla yogurt with the cereal? My son LOVES it. As far as eating he has about 5 bottles a day 6oz and about 3 jars (step 2) of baby food. I switch out the yogurt and cereal for a jarred food sometimes. He also has the little Gerber snack puffs and the Veggie Wheels. He is a big boy. At 5mths he wieghed 20.3lbs. He has a check-up on Monday, I'm very curious to see how much he has grown.

Since your son likes the cereal so much, why don't you start adding the fruits and veggies VERY GRADUALLY into it. Like 1 tsp for the whole big serving of cereal. Just enough for him to barely notice. Then you can slowly add more over time.

Does he like finger foods? He's at the age when you could start trying small pieces of real fruit and cooked veggies...he might like that better. ANd then the favorites like cheerios, gerber poofs, zweiback toast. Also try mashed potatoes.

DD is 7 months old. She eats 3-4 bottles a day (8 oz) and then 3 meals of baby food (2 jars/ one veggie, one fruit) THen she also snacks on the poofs and toast. I've given her some real fruit, she liked it ok, but not to the point where I would give it to her as a meal.

And I wouldn't worry about the sippy cup yet. Most kids that age aren't quite ready for it. DD has used hers a few times (with the soft spout) but she can't hold it for herself yet, so it's more of a hassle.

Good luck, keep us posted!!
