I've just bought the book "Pain Free At Last" by Darrell Stoddard and am considering buying some Biotape (that's a trademarked name) which he recommends for pain relief. Has anyone used Biotape? How'd it work for you? TIA!

I personally am wary when I read a book that suggests that purchasing a particular product will solve my problems. It will certainly solve the financial problems of the company which is selling the book as well as the product mentioned!

I put the word "biotape" into my search engine, and the FIRST article that came up was a June 2004 news article about how the FTC (U.S. Federal Trade Commission) "has charged that Smart Inventions, Inc., a California-based direct response TV company, made false and unsubstantiated claims that a product called “Biotape” can treat or cure severe pain." The claims are based on false and unscientific premises. The product itself costs (according to this article) $10 for 10 tapes. You can buy a lot of aspirin for that much money.

If this product worked as spectacularly as the author claims, then hospitals would be prescribing it for their patients who are in pain. The hopitals and doctors are not prescribing it because there is no evidence that it actually works. My advice: save your money. And keep looking for pain relief, but be wary of scientific-sounding claims that have no science behind them.
