My wife and I were sick for a couple of weeks with what seemed to be the flu. First she had it and then I had it, and so on. My wife however is feeling better and I seem to have deep chest congestion with occasional cough that won't go away. Thw one distinct thing with the congestion as was before is that when I cough i get a taste in my mouth like I have been chewing on a piece of metal. I have hardly any flem, but I have a very strong metallic taste in my mouth after the cough. Anyone have any suggestions what this might be? Is there anything like this going around? I appreciate any advice on this matter. Thanks. :)

I don't know what it is, but I have had the exact same thing from time to time with my chronic post nasal drip. It tastes like I've been chewing on a tin can. I don't have it all the time, but notice it about once a week or so.

I don't know if it's connected, but I seem to notice it when my drip is the heaviest and gagging me the hardest.
