View Full Version : Question about pain killers

I have broken my foot 3 different times in the past 10 months. First time, 8 place, second time, 1, this time, 3 places. This time, I am in so much pain, I get like 2 hours of sleep at night, and my friends are telling me I'm moaning screaming and crying about my foot in my sleep. It constantly wakes me up. Would pain killers help this?

I understand they can do awful tings, but the doctor has mentioned them as a sloution. My mom (I'm 14) does not think they would be a good idea, and does not want me to ever take them, but I am in so much pain.

Any advice?

Are you not taking anything? Not even Aleve, Advil, stuff like that? I'd give the OTC (over the counter) stuff a try first and if need be, get a prescription from the doctor. Talk to the doctor about it and ak him/her to help with your mom. Some can be addictive and I am sure she's concerned about that but for short term use, they can great. Good luck.

I've been taking Aleve, Advil, Motrin, Tylenol. None of them even take the edge off of the pain. It hurts so bad. She just really doesn't want me taking them. I don't think she understands how much pain I am in. She is very supportive, but keeps telling me just to go take Aleve. I've told her that it doesn't work.

Then talk to your doctor the next time you go or even call if that's going to be too far out. Let the doc be your advocate with your mother.
