My Mother has Ms nad recent she fell and sprained her ankle it was doing just grea great great but then her entire foot and and ankle ballooned to twice it's normal size. I was not there ( live out of town) but my sis happened to be there visiting and she said that there was even a spot discoloured spot the size of a Loonie ( I'm Canadian) on the sole of her foot! She went to ER where they gave her antibiotics and x-rayed her ankle everything was fine, they told her that she had a skin infection and it was comnon in MS patients, also she a test to see if there was a blood clot in it and all clear, As the swelling went down all the the skin came off of her foot and ankle. And I shouldn't say that the swelling is down because it isn't, this happened on Sept 3rd and I just went to visit her and my dad for Thanksgiving this weekend and it is still very swollen! She can't put a shoe on. She is going to her Neurologist to get him to have a look at it. Is swollen ankles common with MS.
I don't know if it is common, but I fell down about three weeks ago and sprained my ankle, it is still giving me quite a lot of trouble. I wrap it every day, that seems to keep the swelling down. Curious to hear what others say!

Well my Mom just went to her GP today after talking with her neurlogist ( he toold to see the GP) her GP told her that he feels that it has to do with circulation and I tend to agree with that he told her to get a pair of stockings to to wear to help with the circulation and he also has a follow up appointment in 3 weeks :) I hope it helps. I was really starting to get worried about that foot
