ok i posted about my 7 1/2 month being a high need baby he's very sensitive & has mood changes so quick & when something is bothering him he screams like he is gonna die. We put him down to go to sleep he is laughing at nothing in the dark i guess kicking his wall & laughs real hard but i can't understand cause sometimes he will just scream his head off like he is gonna die. does anyone's baby do this laugh at nothing i mean he is cracking up, it's funny in a way cause at least he's not screaming crying but what is he laughing at so hard he will do it for awhile then fall asleep.

I have always heard when they are staring into space laughing, that they are watching the Angels dancing. They can see stuff we don't. My DS will sometimes laugh at nothing, but it really seems to me like he "sees" something. My husband got freaked out one night because he looked up at the ceiling laughed and waved. LOL.....I told my husband the "wave" was involunitary.
 I also heard when they smile in their sleep, the Angels are wispering to them.

I always liked to believe kinda the same thing. I always thought my babies were looking at family members who have passed on and who are looking in on us. Both of my kids would stare at nothing and smile, not breaking their gaze. Especially at doorways. DD especially will lock her eyes on "nothing" and smile/giggle. When I get in the way of her stare she strains her neck to see around me. I've actually said outloud..."Do you see grandma?" Wow, I sound like a nutcase  But that's my way of looking at it.

To be honest, I have never heard those ideas about babies and smiling at nothing...but, It is the cutes thing I have ever heard. That really is a nice way to look at it. I am a firm believer that our loved ones come to visit us, and I also believe babies and young children have an 'open' mind to these sorts of things. Its nice to think my ds or dd are seeing people that I loved so deeply who have long since passed. I'm really happy i came across this thread.
