View Full Version : Bunion and cyst surgery

I'm new to this board but will probably be here more often now that my surgery is officially scheduled for November 11. I'm having a bunionectomy and I have a cyst in the joint which has to be cleaned out and packed with bone chips.
Yuk. I'll be nwb for at least 8 weeks so am reading all of the 'crutches' posts and learning a lot! My dr said I'll probably have to use one of those wheely things (you rest your knee on it and wheel around like a scooter with your other foot) for a week or two at first also so if anyone has any insight or tips on those I'd love to hear it.

This past summer I spent 8 weeks in a boot because I had stress fractures in both feet. I wore the boot on the worse foot and a 'dansko' clog on the other. (A great clog with plenty of toe room and they don't bend at the toe so my fractured bones were able to heal.)

Talk to you all later :)
