Ladies - I have been on BC (Ortho Tri-Cyclen) for about 6 years. Each year my hair gets thinner and thinner (I am 25). I used to have such thick hair. Could it be from the pills? Everyone else in my family has really thick hair. Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone gone off the pill & their hair thickened up? I would love some advice!

It quite possibly is from the pill. I lost a lot of hair on Estrostep FE. My hair was once very thick as well. Luckily, I was only on it for 2 years. My hair has filled in since going off it, but is still thin. I have been off of it for 3 years.

I've noticed for myself that when i tried getting off the pill that is when i had alot of hair shedding...i don't know if it was the hormone change or what...

Depressing! The things we take for granted...hair,skin,nails etc....
I started taking orth tricyclin in oct. last year and i had spotting problems with it.
someone told me i was not fully protected if spotting was occuring.
Immediately i switched to Yasmin without missing a month.
After 3 months on Yasmin my hair started to fall out almost like clumps. In the shower i would see not single strands of hair on the walls or the tub but a clump of 10 hairs here and there, everywhere. Obviously, i quite Yasmin immediately however months have past and my hair has continued to fall out though not as drastically.
right now my hair is half of what it was one year ago without a doubt.
My twin sister started the same pill at approximately the same time and the same exact thing happened to her too.
We both stopped taking Yasmin immediately.
I think birth control may have had something to do with it. Finally,i went to the doctor and he told me use rogaine. it's been 3 months but the stuff supposidly takes 9 months. i swear i continue to loose my hair. :confused:
