Now starts that appeal process. Haven't heard from Social Security yet, but have heard that at least one denial is typical, regardless of the piles of documentation.... bummed. Called medical providers, to see how payment plans will work if this falls through again- one said I'd talked to her 2 weeks ago, and I have no memory of that. That upset me. Not a good afternoon

Sorry to hear that. Medicare just sent out a MASSIVE mailing (100 pages) across the nation that they are not even ready for at zuit suit level. Their HMO switch over plan for coverage. The HMO's they don't know what plan will cover what, some are still under discussion, not all cover medications, some are limited to what areas you have coverage.... some tell you to CALL for detaile on the entire plan!!!

I just called my worker at state level and found out I do NOT have to switch. something they failed to tell me at federal level.

Good luck at getting in the system. For SocSec it took me 2 appeals. The second appeal I had a lawyer to give it a lot more push.

See if there is something you can get on at state level meanwhile.

My long term disability insurance company (from when I worked- glad I paid into that benefit) will send someone with me if it gets to the hearing level... it definitely is in their favor to have SSD paying their portiong, then the LTD company pays the balance of what I get now, so I don't drop down to poverty levels. Just such a hassle when it's hard enough to just stay vertical some days.... There is SO much documentation; I've had 2 sz IN my MD's office (she 911'd me out of there), ER has tons of visits for sz after being sent from work, neuro consult= sz disorder, LTD company been paying for 15 months since I've been off due to constantly being shipped out by ambulance from work, etc....EEG in ICU was abnormal just this last May, a month before applying for SSD.... at least I've got the advocacy of the LTD company... and also another one for Medicaid... I'd be lost on my own.

This makes me really mad. Surprising huh? :) So many people take advantage of the system and get away yet the people who really need help can't get any. I wish you the best of luck getting the coverage you deserve and paid for BTW, with your tax dollars!

Yeah, it's frustrating, and supposedly there has been some law passed to get this stuff pushed thru faster....maybe they deny 'faster', then deal with the appeals....who knows....too much red tape. Glad there's an intermediary agency helping or I'd be totally lost.
