I was SO HAPPY when the heat ended. :bouncing: Then the rain came and I can barely move! Hey, I want to hear from some other "older" folks out there. In addition to the usual aches and pains, I've been getting sudden stabbing pains in my hips and legs. (Want to soak in a hot bath but that would make me go numb...) Any advice on managing the "normal" aging stuff in addition to the MS?

Hey Lilc!

I was dx'd w/secondary fibromyalgia when the MS kicked in. Those are two of the exact symptoms I had with it. You might want to be evaluated for that. If that should be the problem, I found that stretching helped. If you're not already limber, you might try gentle stretches over the next couple of weeks and gradually push yourself farther...and drink lots of water to keep the toxins moving through and out the bod! Advil can take the edge off if the pain becomes intolerable. And keep praying - never, never, never give up!

Kelli, I used to take advil EVERY day, the slightest twinge of pain was a good excuse for me. Now I'm cautious about it because of the effect on kidneys. But I have found it works well enough to make otherwise excruciating things tolerable. I suspect I will drag my feet on the fibromyalgia thing! I WILL, however, continue to drink more water (doing better all the time at that) and to try to improve my habits in general. And you'd better believe I'll keep on praying!!!
