Here is my mom's situation.........she was at a luncheon and all of a sudden she felt dizzy. She could not lift her fork or pick up her glass. She was rushed to the hospital. While there she suffered another dizzy spell and had nausea. No headaches though. However her speech was slurred for a short time. It came back to normal after she took the the meczinal(sp). She had tightness in her chest and arms but not sure if she was describing it right. I noticed she was swollen. She said she felt like she was floating in space or falling. Ct scan came back normal.. Was kept overnight and will be having three more tests in the morning.
Anybody experience something similar to what she had?

Sorry to hear about your Mom. It is possible that it could be something like labyrinthitis or something else to do with the inner ear. When I first got vertigo I couldn't do anything as I felt so bad, and the floaty falling feelings along with the nausea I certainly had. But the swollen and slurred speech don't sound typical of this illness. What other tests are they doing and have they ruled anything out yet?

I had all of those symptoms......she most likely has an infection....A year has passed and I'm still not really feeling well to be quite honest but she could bounce back quickly....therapy helped me alot
