I can't sleep very good and I wake up a lot in the middle of the night for now reason. I can't sleep on my back and wake up having bad heart palpitations. I try to sleep on my side or stomach but end up falling onto my back and get woke up almost all the time. I am going to see my ENT about this and ask for a sleep study. Thoughts?

Have you had your thyroid checked? You could have an overactive thyroid gland. That will definitely cause heart palpitations, as well as panic attack sort of symptoms.

doesn't really sound like sleep apnea to me but then again you may be having other symptoms that you did not mention. Most of the time sleep apnea makes you feel like you have been ran over by a MAC truck in the morning and you never really feel rested. If you do wake up from it you generally are waking up coughing or short of breath. Also there is generally an increase in ones snoring. Many times though one does not even know they have sleep apnea when they are diagnosed.
