How has everyone been? I have been reading the posts, but haven't found much time to write. My son has croup and hasn't been feeling too well. I took him to the doctors yesterday and they put him on 3 days of oral prednisone. The doctor was explaining to me what the prednisone will do, and I was laughing inside because there are more corticosteroids being taken in my house than should be allowed. haha. I start my once a month solumedrol next week. Anxious to see if this treatment helps noticably or not. Maybe it will just work to keep new symptoms at bay. I also go up to Boston tomorrow for an MRI at this MS clinic. They apparently have special machines, or techniques that focus directly on MS. It is 2 hours long! Should be interesting. The MRI is for the study I enrolled in, so I wonder if that neuro gets a copy and I will get results too? I would hope that if they take the time and money to have an MRI, they will make it multifunctional and not just use it for the study, but use it to check my progress, or lack there of (i hope!). I am just very anxious to see what is going on inside my body... because the outside sx say it's not good... but hopefully there isn't any lesion progression... i'm happy with my 3 little ones! :) Hope everyone is doing well... take care!

Howdy, Curious, good to hear from you! A 2 hour MRI seems incredible but you are right, this just might be the ticket to finding out as precisely as possible what is going on with you. Unless you signed something that said you would forfeit seeing the results, I would say they are yours as well as "theirs." Let us know what comes of it.

Hope your baby feels better soon! I can imagine how tough that's been on the whole family. So many illnesses going around out there! Really hits the little ones hard.

have a good trip tomorrow and keep up the positive attitude.

yer friend,
Shad

hey curious - are you doing the "cognitive study"? had to do a 2 hour MRI for that one and then do some memory tests.

Bad- I believe this is a 10 year study tracking the disease progression and what CRAB drug I am on. I signed up for it... and i'm not even sure what it's all about! haha No, but... it just requires a yearly MRI (which I would be having anyways) and blood work once a year. They are looking to see changes in the blood I guess as the MRI changes/ doesn't. I thought it sounded interesting and hopefully beneficial in the long run! What is your study all about? There are so many out there... which is great news for us! Maybe they'll find the answers they are looking for to help get a cure :) wouldn't that be wonderful!

gotcha - I'm in 2 studies. . one is the natural progression one and then the other is the cognitive study one, which is when I got this 2 hour MRI (UG) - such a bore. . .and the first bit of the MRI went for 50+ mintues. .so I couldn't move at all (you know how you usually get a little break here and there in between the "banging"). . and then these weird memory and grouping tests.
