Hello! My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex on my day 12 of the cycle... we had missed count... so the next day I took the morning after pill which should supress my ovulation. Does anyone know when I will ovulate then? after the pill? Has anybody heard about the average days it takes for a woman to ovulate after the pill..??

And my second question is... I read that alot of people in this forum have had bad experiences with the pill... mine was pretty good... no side effects as of yet.... has anyone had long term side effects?

You should ovulate roughly 14 days after your period starts. Your period might come sooner or later than scheduled because of the MAP.

As far as experiences, many women have used the MAP without any ill effects. You're going to read mostly bad experiences on forums like this because this is where people come when they have problems. People don't often create posts about their problem-free experiences.

You're welcome.

Yes, ideally, you'll ovulate around day 14.

Again, your cycle might be a little off, but, theoretically, once you get your period, ovulation should occur soon after.

GL sorry for sooo many questions... but a new one just popped... when my cycle comes I will start birth control pills.. however since I took the MAP I was told I could "bleed" as soon as 5 days after taking them??... Should I start B/C pills then?? Or should I wait for my period after that to start the pills??

It's best to start the pill during your period, but it doesn't really matter when you start it. If you do spot/bleed and want to start the pill then, go for it. If the spotting/bleeding isn't your actual period, you're more likely to experience spotting once you start taking the pill. But, it's up to you.

Most brands of pills say that you're protected after 7 days of perfect use. Check your package insert that came with the pills.
