Hi there-for the past month everytime I have a bowl movement I have alot of blood both in the toilet bowl (making it bright red water) and on the toilet paper. I went to the doctors who looked but could not see anything. She said to get a colonoscopy if it keeps up. It stopped for a few days, but then last week I had another strained movement & it bleed alot that time.
What could it be? Do hemorroids bleed that much? The entire toilet paper was bright red. I mean I am only 23 so what else could it possibly be? If I leave it alone for a while do you think it would get better on its own? I have a feeling it will just bleed again as soon as I have another strained movement. I mean how serious could it be as I am so young?
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You should start on a fiber supplement. It should held ease up on the strained movements you are having.

Hi Smiles,

It probably is an internal hemmorhoid or possibly a fissure but since there is so much of it I would make an appt. with a gastrointerologist and have it checked out. Being that you are only 23 and the color of the blood is fresh red blood it is most likely from the above.

Since you are having so much of it though, it really needs to be checked out.
