Hi All

In panic of feeling weird the other day and decided to look up VRT online. Came up with this article I had not see before. Very helpful. He says BPPV should definately include VRT. This is not what my neurotologist said. I have called him to ask for VRT after being told that life provides the challenges you need (In some ways I would agree with him,, but not vestibularly). This compensation thing is slow. My vision still feels in over load and am wondering if specific VRT will help.

Anyway, check it out:

Hi Jade

..."He says BPPV should definately include VRT."...

Yes---the research data shows that---for most it is effective.

..."vision still feels in over load and am wondering if specific VRT will help."...

Yes---that was one of the things that Univ Of Penn Balance Center---did for me---when I hung up in compensating...did vision VRT's....

..."This is not what my neurotologist said"....

Make him/her a copy and give it to him.....because.....its...

Not unusual...Dr/Prof Hain is at the Northwestern Univ--leading a team in both research and clinical practice....It is not unusual for Doc doing only "clinical practice" to lag behind research results...usually takes about 5 to ten years...before---the research results show up as "clinical procedures" for treatment of medical problems...which is why...u get the most help..from...them....L/L in the UK, Scott's guy in Aus, Ruckenstien/Shepard at Univ of Penn, Bolha(sp) out in Ca...etc....

Just hand it to him/her and say u need it.....and the medical research warrants him/her prescribing it for u....

The site u called out is in the "sticky" Information Archive first post on the board....

Hey Subs

Thanks for the feedback. I feel very hung up in Compensation. I think I am better and boom feeling dizzy again and noticing that the night time head turn dizzies are coming back. I have never had an MRI and am starting to think I should. It would be so nice to walk around the world feeling "normal" again!!

I will address the article with DR. Does anyone know of a good Dr in Claifornia, preferably nor cal?

Thanks, Jade :)

Hi Jade

...".........Does anyone know of a good Dr in Claifornia, preferably nor cal?"....

Why not send Dr Hain and email...and ask him.....he normally answers...all of them...may not be right away...but usually does....
