View Full Version : mom getting worse

I have been having such depresion lately. I guess I've been living kind of in denial about mom's ALS, but I can't anymore. Her legs are about gone. She fell twice yesterday. We can wheel her all around the house but she has to use a walker to get to the bathroom and her legs just give out. I'm scared, she's scared, we're all scared. How do you comfort someone and tell them it'll be alright when it won't be? We all know it's going to get worse. Sorry I'm so down today, I think I'm just tired.
Thank you and take care

Can you park the wheelchair outside the bathroom door and put your arms under her arms to assist her to the toilet?

Hi Jennifer, Please dont be sorry, we all know what you and your mom are going through.

Maybe a portable toilet (commode) will help solve your moms toileting fiasco ?

Thoughts & Prayers are with you both.

Thank you for your suggestions. We've ordered a rolling potty chair that we can put her on in the bedroom and roll her over the toliet. Plus she is getting her power chair this week so that should take some of the stress off too.
Thank you both for replying.
Jennifer
