It's been 3 days and nicotine free.Boy has it been hard. You wanna talk about brain fog. It's gotten worse since I stopped smoking.

I was to here from my Dr. today when I called her office she was gone for the weekend. She had sent my MRI's to a specialist and thought she may of had word back today.

They put me on a low dose Medrol (steroid) for 5 days, but I feel like crap being on it.It's been 2 days ,I only have 3 to go.I feel like I have the 24 hour flu and it won't leave.

I do feel a bit better not smoking .I've smoked for 22 years.Maybe I'll save a little money now.I hope I can continue to not smoke I hope my will power is strong enough.

Being the only one in my large family who's a non smoker, I've seen first hand how hard the battle can be to quit smoking. It's taken my mom and sister a lot of attempts to finally kick the habit, but after smoking for over 40 years, my moms been smoke free for over 5. You can do it! Just hang in there... and maybe eat some gummy bears - worked for her ;)

Hows the not smoking going?

I always joke with my mom that she traded one addiction for the other. Smoking is out, but she goes through two 3lb bags of gummy bears from costco a month ;) The gellitan (sp?) makes her nails really long and nice though.

I quit smoking 6/1/01 cold turkey just like you and if I can do it anyone can,

Here are some things to be glad about stopping smoking:
you won't have to stand out in the cold to smoke
you won't smell like an ashtray
your clothes and house won't smell like an ashtray
you will be saving LOTS of money
you no longer will have to grab your cigs along w/your keys when you leave in your car
when you see the commercials on TV on quitting smoking and they shame you if you smoke, well they won't be shaming you any more!!!
your car windows will stay much cleaner,
your breath won't be awful
all the time you are giving yourself, no more stopping to buy the stupid things,
no more stressing about only having a few left and I gotta get some more!!

The first 3 days are the worst and you are thru them, your cough will cease, no more bronchitis, or sinus infections, you will be healthier and isn't that what we all need!!

Get some of those altoids/mints they come in many different flavors, or tootsie pops.

I used to sit and read and smoke, for hours, once I quit I can hardly read a book now and when I do I fall asleep, I replaced smoking w/going on line and playing games and stuff like that. Go on the web and look up quitting smoking and see what you can find, look for the support because you are not alone!

You can do it, you are going to feel so much better :bouncing: :bouncing:

Keep up the great work

Congratulatios!! My best friend quit two years ago and her first few days were hell! She is so proud of herself now though! Still gets the occasional urge when she goes out but has hels on to her inhaler for those times. Best of luck lucybelle

I know you can do it. I agree with Stephanie Anne ... there are so many good things about not smoking! When I started getting dizzy and uneasy on my feet I cut down on smoking. Then when I found out I had something seriously wrong with me I decided it was time to quit smoking ... I didn't need anything else to bring me down. I wanted the rest of my body to be as healthy and strong as possible to fight this thing. I haven't had a cigarett in 7 months and I feel so much better and smell better too. :D

If I can do it anyone can ... it's all in your head. :bouncing:
