Hi Maureen,

Just want you to know that I am thinking of you and your trip to see Dr. Crist. If I were in your shoes, I would be really nervous and scared.

I know you will do fine, sometimes the anxiety is worse than the real thing and you will be glad to get it over with.

I am keeping you in my prayers.

Sending Angels to watch over you,
Denise

Hey denise, gottagetbetter, & chocolatesprinkles,

Thanks for remembering the appointment and well wishes. I have everything pretty well in order and 3 pages of questions. I even mailed a detailed "journey" to him a couple of days ago so he can review what has happened to me over the last 5 years. If he reads it before the appointment that'll be great but at least he'll have it when I get there. It has been a rough couple of days here with not a lot of sleep. I will be looking forward to getting home and crashing.

Rhonda went in the hospital Thursday night to be induced. I was induced with 3 of my kids and had them pretty quickly but things have changed. They inserted some kind of string in her to thin out the cervix and then would start to induce. She checked in at 9:00PM Thursday and at 3:00PM Friday they started to induce her. A while later the baby's heartbeat went crazy so they stopped. They put Rhonda on oxygen for the baby and said they would start again in a few hours.

To be honest with you I really didn't think I would see the baby until we got back from Missouri because there is no way I could maneuver the hospital corridors and I just have this "mental thing" about a wheelchair. I have spent the last 5 years avoiding this and felt like I was losing to the lyme if I used one. Of course Rhonda informed me this was the "only 1st grandchild" I would ever have and made me feel like a creep. No sleep that night for me.

Yesterday I decided we would go to the hospital and we would just get a wheelchair there. Jennifer called at about 6:30PM and told us about all the problems so we went to the hospital right away. We stayed until 10:30PM and they said it wouldn't come until daylight anyway. They considered a C-section. No sleep again. We went home because Ronnie needed some sleep because he works today.

Jennifer called this morning at 6:49 AM and said the baby was born normally at 6:25AM and is just beautiful. Mother and baby are fine. Ronnie has to work at 3:00PM so we will go down at `11:00 or so this morning to visit. Jennifer was a real trooper too. She took Rhonda in on Thursday night and stayed a few hours and was back by 8:00AM yesterday and stayed until the baby was born this morning. She was supposed to be in the Susan Komen Walk for the Cure at 7:45AM this morning but I hope she went home to bed instead. She is going to a concert tonight and needs some sleep. She said she would be back when we get there this morning.

Anyway I don't have all the specifics other than she is beautiful and her name is AVA. I'll fill you in later.

I am okay mentally even after the wheelchair business and just need some sleep. I will probably try to get a nap in when Ronnie goes to work. Dr. Crist is really going to see some super sized under the eyes bags. :D

Thanks again for the well wishes. I'll post when we return.

Maureen

Dearest Maureen,

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! ! ! ! :jester: :jester: :jester:

Ava is a beautiful name and I am so happy for you and your family. Perhaps the baby will bring you and Rhonda closer.........

I am so sorry that you have not gotten much sleep, I hope you get some sleep before your big trip. Maybe you can sleep in the car??

Wheelchair, yes, I understand so well when I couldn't walk, I didn't want to give in to it either so I crawled, LOL! When I really had to get out of the house, I did use crutches, well, either that or crawling outside.

You were so smart to mail in your history to Dr. Crist, that's very organized of you, I would not have thought to do that.

As far as Rhonda telling you that this is your only grandchild, sounds like my family with the manipulation, ouch!! What about Jennifer, she does not want children? Sorry, I don't mean to sound so nosy. You don't have to answer that.

Anyway, I hope you read this as I am truly thinking of you with all my heart and soul..........

Hugs!
Denise

dear denise,

Thanks for the congrats. Jennifer e-mailed us a couple of pictures and she is darling. She looks really big but Jennifer says she is small with long legs and fingers. One picture really looks like she is none to happy to have left her abode. Not crying, just grimacing. Rhonda is about to see what motherhood is all about.

Jennifer does want kids. After her broken engagement there isn't anybody steady yet but at least she is back to enjoying life. A big concert and dinner tonight with 11 other friends, all girls I think. I joked and said after being Rhonda's "coach" that was probably the best birth control method on the market. :D

We didn't get to go to the hospital after all because Rhonda wanted to sleep for about 12 hours. I guess she forgot she is nursing. We will run by tomorrow on our way out. Just another detour to add to the last few days.

I'll post when I get back and settled. By the way did you get your card and order your meds? I hope they kick in real quick after being off them for a while.

Hi Maureen,

Thanks for the update on Baby Ava, that's great that Jennifer e-mailed you pictures of her, awwwwww!! That's great that Jennifer wants kids, she will learn a lot if she helps Rhonda out (hope she doesn't change her mind, lol).

Sounds like not only Rhonda needs the rest, but you do too.

I did finally get my Card and I didn't order my Meds yet..... I went through some withdrawal lowering the Samento and Borrelogen, wow!! I've been depressed and hiding out again in my bed, I know, not good.

The money I got went too fast, alot went for Oil so I do have hot water again, I owed 2 payments on my Car Insurance, then food, oh you know the list of bills.

Anyway, I had a bad menstrual cycle this week and all that pouring rain for 9 days didn't help either. I will be getting more money soon so I will order the Borrelogen and Samento soon.

Otherwise, nothing else is new and I'm just knitting away and watching soap opera's. I think I could write my own Soap Opera, LOL!!

Glad you posted and I hope to hear from you again before your trip.

Hugs,
Denise

Maureen, congratulations! They say that grandchildren are the real reward that having kids gives you. I'm glad the birth is over and you don't have to worry about trying to be in two places at once. I bet she is beautiful!

As for the wheelchair, I spent my vacation in a wheelchair when we went to Florida. It's humbling, but that's okay.

Good luck at your appointment, looking forward to hearing all about it!
